Vin Noe Superposition Puligny Montrachet Le Trezin 2023
Vin NoeGrape: Chardonnay
Vintage: 2023
Type: White
This low-intervention white Burgundy is a pure varietal bottling of chardonnay from high-altitude vines in Puligny-Montrachet. Winemaker Jonathan Purcell sources the fruit from the prestigious Le Trézin lieu-dit, characterized by rocky limestone soils. The winemaking features a gentle press followed by a completely spontaneous fermentation driven by native wild yeasts in neutral French oak barrels. The liquid matures on its fine lees for several months and is bottled without fining, filtration, or added sulfur.
It pours a luminous golden-straw color, releasing an intense bouquet of lemon curd, crushed rocks, and white flowers. On the palate, a powerful, bone-dry structure balances a rich, buttery texture with a piercing, salty minerality. Clear flavors of ginger and kiwi develop beautifully as the wild natural edge expands across the mouthfeel. A persistent lemon acidity runs through the center, keeping the concentrated weight fresh and expressive. It concludes with an impressively long and dense finish.
